Eligibility Requirements for the Doctor of Medicine Programme

Duration: 5 ½ years includes Pre- Medicine.

  • Guyanese/ Caribbean Applicants: Atleast Five (5) subjects at CXC/CSEC level, which must include Mathematics, English, and the core science subjects (Chemistry, Physics and Biology), all must be with grades 1-3.
  • North American Applicants: High School Diploma in the Science stream.
  • British Applicants: Advanced level General Certificate of Education.
  • Asian Applicants: Higher Secondary School (10+2)
  • Africa: Senior Secondary Certificate

Duration: 4 ½ years includes admission into Basic Science Pre- Clinicals.

  • International Applicants: BSc. /Associate’s Degree in any science related stream from an accredited institution.
  • Guyanese /Caribbean Applicants: Completed 2 units of CAPE (Diploma certificate) or any equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.

List of Required Documents for Prospective Students

The list of required documents needed to submit to the university’s Admissions Department after filling and submitting your online application.

  1. Eight (8) updates passport size photos
  2. Valid police clearance certificate
  3. Two letters of recommendation
  4. CSEC/ CXC certificate along with any other certificate for higher studies.
  5. Passport biographic data page
  6. National Identification Card
  7. Birth certificate
  8. Personal Statement- Stating reason/s why you would like to pursue a BSc. Degree in Medicine.
  9. Basic Medical Clearance certificate from a certified Medical Partitioner or any Public Health Facility.
  10. Curriculum Vitae
  11. Copy of COVID-19 Vaccination card.
  12. Financial Support Letter from sponsor/guarantor/parent.
